"The planet does not need more ‘successful people’. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds. It needs people to live well in their places. It needs people with moral courage willing to join the struggle to make the world habitable and humane and these qualities have little to do with success as our culture is the set. " – H.H.The Dalai Lama

Experience

Visual Researcher

Sahapedia

My primary task at Sahapedia involves curating the entire visual content of Sahapedia, both as stock and published material. I work independently as a researcher building up photo essays and visual narratives for various themes and subjects for Sahapedia. I also handle the social media output and conduct heritage walks in Delhi as a part of Sahapedia’s outreach initiatives.

Documentary Photographer

Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts

Worked as a Documentary Photographer as part of a team researching the textile traditions of North-East India, commissioned by the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts in New Delhi, and funded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. My primary task was visual documentation of the tribes of the North-East from an anthropological perspective with a focus on textiles and cataloguing the visual archive of this project.

Photojournalist

Getty Images

I provide travel content to American stock photo agency Getty images. They are a global supplier of stock images for business and consumers with an archive of 80 million still images and illustrations. Getty targets three markets—advertising and graphic design, print media and online publishing, and corporate. My content to Getty is entirely India-centric and explores various dimensions of its rich visual landscape. I was shortlisted by Getty after they reviewed my photography work and currently I have around 1000 images in Getty’s image bank. My images from Getty are purchased by media agencies and publishing houses from across the world.
